Damir Miloš  was born in Rijeka, on November 12, 1954. He finished elementary school and a part of high school in Opatija and took his school-leaving examination in Čabar. He studied philosophy and phonetics at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. He worked in the SUVAG centre for five years and for an additional five years he was a teaching assistant at the Department of Phonetics of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. In 1989 he returned to the sea as a professional sailing instructor. Up to 2004 he worked in the nautical firm ACI at which point he decided to apply for the status of an independent artist and wholly dedicated himself to writing.
He has published the following books of prose: Pogled Grad (A Look the City), Snježni kralj (Snow King), Se (Itself), Smrt u Opatiji (Death in Opatija), Bijeli Klaun (White Clown), Nepoznata priča (Unknown story), Autobiografija (Autobiography), Kapetanov dnevnik (The Captain's Diary), Zoe, Nabukodonozor (Nebuchadnezzar), Otok snova (Island of dreams), Kravata (Necktie), Klitostora, Pod jedriljem krstaša (Under the Sails of a Cruising Boat), Jedriličarski brevijar (Sailing Breviary), Smetlar (Street Sweeper), Kornatske priče (Kornati Tales), Meke ulice (Soft Streets).
As a professional yachtsman he has written a number of books on sailing and has published plays and theoretical texts. He lives in Vodice with his family.
